Spring/Summer skincare essentials!

Skin care in the warmer months is so different to skin care in the cooler months. Your skin is subjected to completely different conditions in different weather.
In the warmer months, these are my must haves!

Exfoliates!
Exfoliating your body definitely a must do! Your skin is dry and in need of some good scrubbing after winter leaves us. Throughout the summer when your skin is getting a little browner, you need to scrub away the dead skin. My absolute favourite pamper exfoliant is the Frank body scrub. Its made from coffee grinds and makes your skin feel amazing! It is a bit more of a 'luxury' scrub, I would usually use this once every couple of weeks. My favourite everyday exfoliant is the body tonic scrub from Garnier. It is great for everyday use and great for the pre-tan scrub.

Moisturisers!
When you're soaking up the sun, your skin tends to loose a lot of its moisture, so its important to keep up the moisturising to ensure your skin stays healthy. I use the Clean and Clear moisturiser for my face two times a day - morning and night (My skin is on the drier side of the spectrum though) It is oil free, so it moisturises but doesn't leave that oily residue that a lot of moisturises leave.
For my body, I just the Jargons daily moisturiser as it sinks into your skin so quickly but really does give it a moisture hit! It smells great too - just for that little bonus!
Following on from your regular moisturisers, in the warmer months when your skin is dehydrated, a face balm works a treat in restoring the moisture your skin will be craving. The Dr Lewinns Multi-moisture balm is my favourite and it smells like oranges!

Masks!
For those nights when you want to feel a little extra special and give yourself a little pamper - a face mask is the perfect addition! In the summer your skin is constantly being affected by UV rays. So it will need that extra pamper every now and then. I would usually do a face mask once every couple of weeks.
My go-to mask is the Sukin Detoxifying clay masque. It is so incredibly soothing on the skin and works a treat.

Fake Tan!
Now I do realise that fake tan definitely is not for everyone, but I love it. I'm on the paler end of the spectrum so I need all the help I can get. (And I'd rather not actually tan and kill my skin cells).
I love Le Tan's Instant Mousse for many reasons. Its affordable (Like $10 I think), which is one of the biggest bonuses. But it comes in shades that are both green based and orange based, so you can choose what you'd rather.
I always go for the 'dark bronze' shade because it is green based so it gives me a olive based completion, but id definitely isn't 'dark' as it is a build-able colour. I would usually apply fake tan about once a week.

My Spring/Summer must haves: Whites!

WHITES!
You can't get much better than crisp white in the warmer months. Not only will it keep you cooler, but it'll look stylish and put together with next to no effort. For a casual look, you can't look past the good old white tee. You can pair it with basically anything! Jeans, shorts or skirts.
To dress up the white tee, pair it with a dark denim, some heels and statement jewellery.

These are two of my white pieces that I always reach for. The first is a relaxed peplum top with a cute cute out across the middle. I usually pair this with some denim shorts and sandals for the casual look, or black jeans to dress it up.

The next is the classic white button up. It mixes it up a bit with the slight sheer consistency and gold hardware. This style instantly 'classes' up any outfit and looks effortless. Although it is a little risk-ay with the sheer texture, I would usually wear a nude bra underneath. If the sheer isn't for you, I can guarantee you can find and solid white button up that'll look just as good!

My Spring/Summer must haves: Stripes!

STRIPES!
No one can go without this summer trend! Stripes are a classic, timeless addition to any wardrobe. Although, it is said that horizontal stripes are unflattering and make you look 'bigger' than you are, I say theres nothing wrong with that. Vertical, horizontal, whatever stripes you go for, if you love it, then we love it!

The 'sailor' dress has been massively successful these past couple years. The look is simple but gorgeous!

This 'sailor' dress is my absolute favourite striped item in my wardrobe. Its navy and white and has a gorgeous colour block section at the bust to break up the stripes. I pair this beauty with some sandals and wear it on any occasion!

My Spring/Summer must haves: Florals!

FLORALS!
Its spring, so naturally, all of the fun floral prints can now come out to play! This is a timeless look that can be made casual or a little fancier for when you want to dress it up.
Which floral pattern is right for you? Well thats completely down to your taste! Almost any floral will look great when styled the right way. I tend to always reach for florals that don't really conform to the tradition idea of 'floral'. I find that the different, funky, edgy florals are my favourite.
Make sure when you've got a busy floral, to tone it down and keep it simple with your accessories and other items.

This is my favourite floral skirt, and is not a 'traditional' floral pattern but has a modern 'edgy' take on it. It is from Dotti and is of a neoprene-like material, and has a peplum fit. It hugs all the right places and is incredibly flattering on any figure!
I would usually style this with a plain black blouse and

This little gem is my favourite floral item in all of my closet. It has a more of a dressier vibe so is reserved for when I want to dress things up a little. Like the skirt, it also features more of an 'edgier' floral pattern, with a neon yellow/green background and a grey floral print in the foreground.

I would usually style this with a pair of dark black jeans, some scrappy black heels and a chunky gold necklace for that extra something special.

Every girl needs to have a floral dress in their closet at some point in their life. They're cute, versatile and can be worn on any occasion. The dress option in florals are great because you don't have any fuss over what other clothing items you need to pair it with.

This particular dress has such an interesting print on it. The deep colours means you can pull it off in any season! (Provided you won't freeze in it)

My Spring/Summer must haves: Maxi!

MAXI SKIRT
The maxi has been an on-trend must have for years now! They're so easy to style and can be dressed up or down with ease.
With so many prints, textures and styles, its hard to find the right one.
The best way to go is to keep it simple. Go for a solid colour if you're not sure what one to get. A simple black/grey/white maxi is versatile and can be paired with almost anything.
If you're feeling confident and want to step out with a patterned maxi, keep it simple on top.

This grey jersey maxi is from boohoo.com and features two splits on either side. It is form fitting but not body con. I would usually style this with a simple white tee for a more casual look, or a colourful crop top for a dressier version.
